about

I'd always chatted with my friend Audiodile, who's a great DJ and mashup artist, about doing a song together. We finally sat down and did it. He has influences that deal in a lot of 80's synthpop, whereas my influences are in today's alt/indie scenes. What came out is this odd mashup of several different styles spanning multiple eras.

This is a one-off single just for funsies. Don't forget to check out Audiodile's page (www.audiodile.com) and check out some of his fantastic mashups, remixes, and sets!

lyrics

there's a time and a place
for wasting space
and if you're not coming home
then it's a slap in the face
you gotta fake it till you make it
if you really wanna take home the gold
well you can slow down
this ain't no race
and if you can't keep up
then keep your own pace
it's nothing worth doing
if you just can't do it alone

but I don't wanna wait for days
and I'm tired of the games we play
while you sit and judge me there from on your throne
put the train wreck on display
marvel and wonder how it sways
wear that disapproving stare right through the phone

OH
Get chemical
walk it to feel
upright to vertigo
OH
Get blitzed
to get back
get back
get back
so you can go (to what you know)

is it a trending feat or a single case
is it dignity if it gets misplaced
am I justified in adopting casual tones
well pinkies up, 'cause it's in good taste
and if you can't throw down then you know your place
there's a hundred different ways that this could go

but I don't wanna wait for days
and I'm tired of the games we play
and I am still quite functional when I am prone
put the train wreck on display
marvel and wonder how it sways
hitting bottom's so much better when you're stoned

about

Polite Fiction Seattle, Washington

One dude in California decided he wanted to make music that got you up out of your chair and dancing. This is the result. He writes every single part. It's hard. Cookies are delicious. Pineapples are not.
